Applefest, 2010 Book Sale - Saturday September 11

Applefest

The Friends of the Northborough Library are having an Applefest Sidewalk Book Sale! We have an excellent selection of fiction and non-fiction, adult and children's books. Please visit our sale while you enjoy the town-wide festival!

The sale is Saturday, September 11th, from 10 AM- 3 PM, on the sidewalk in front of the library at 34 Main Street. (In the event of bad weather, the sale will be held inside.)

Of course, we are now accepting donations of gently used books and media items at the library. Please no magazines, Baby board books,  Reader's Digest condensed books, encyclopedia sets, or books in poor condition.

Please bring them to the library anytime during open hours -- please do not leave the books outside the library or in the book drops. (Feel free to visit our on-going sale shelves every day at the library.)

We also need volunteers to set up and work the Book Sale. To help out, please contact Ellen Church at 393-1742 or ellenchurch1@verizon.net.

Internet Cafe Book Sale Shelf

Visit our expanded Book Sale Shelf, upstairs in the Internet Cafe.  We have an excellent selection of fiction and non-fiction, softcover and hardcover.  There is also a shelf devoted solely to YA titles.  There are no children's books upstairs.  All books upstairs are 50 cents each.  Please pay downstairs at the circulation desk.  We'll continue to stock both the shelf downstairs and the larger location upstairs.  Both locations are stocked by the Friends of the Library, which continues to accept donations of books in good condition.

If you don't know where the internet cafe is, go upstairs, turn left and walk as far as the rotunda, then turn left.  It's in the old Gale Building, opposite the Mystery Room, where the YA room used to be located, before the renovation.

Our Mission Join Us Upcoming Events Meeting and Minutes

One of our best Book Sales ever!
We recently held one of our most successful Book Sales in recent memory. We had many thousands of books, due to the generosity of Northborough residents and residents of the surrounding communities  who bring us their book donations.  Many customers came to this  year's sale and were pleased with their purchases.  Of course the  sale could not be held without the support of our wonderful  volunteers who spent many hours preparing for the sale, manning the  cash box and cleaning up! Many thanks to:  Joanne, Judy, Tricia,  Diane, Sue, Heather, Tricia, Susan, Lisa, Carol, Sandra, Leah,  Carolyn, Stacey, Alice, Katherine, Eva, Mary, Melanie, Elaine &  Wesley, Janice, Elizabeth, Lara, Michael and Ellen.  Thanks also to  the tireless Algonquin students who moved hundreds of book boxes  without complaint!
We look forward to our next Book Sale during the Applefest Street Fair in  September, 2010!
