JUNIOR EXPLORERS
Mondays, October 27, November 17 and December 22, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Children in grades 1 through 3 are invited to join us for a program that explores a different theme each month using visuals and crafts. Because class size is limited, registration is a must.
November topic: Native American clothing varied widely from tribe to tribe, but one universal element was the moccasin. Extensive beadwork, quillwork, and painted designs were lavished on these shoes. We will create our own moccasin artwork.
December topic: Long ago, people celebrated the winter solstice, a time when the days grew short and the sun was at its lowest point in the sky. Candles or bonfires were lit to chase away the darkness. We will make luminaries as our symbol of light.
