ABOUT THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY
The goals of this organization are to promote the LaGrange Public Library, to inform the public about materials and resources available at the Library, to encourage public interest and use of the Library, and to assist in purchasing library materials, equipment and programs. These funds are provided through gifts, Book Bin Sales, and by membership contributions.
Membership supports the library in many ways. Friends of the LaGrange Public Library helps to provide some of the library's special programs, such as storytellers and performers for library participation in the LaGrange Christmas Walk and during Nation Children's Book Week in November. Friends also sponsor a variety of adult programming. FOL have the opportunity to volunteer, either helping in the library or assisting with community events.

Friends Make a Difference
This past year the Friends sponsored:
· 8 adult programs
· Lyric Opera lectures
· the Christmas Walk entertainment
· Children's Summer Reading
In addition, the Friends funded:
· new titles for the library's adult DVD collection
· new dies for the YS AccuCut machine
· a Young Adult CD collection
· upgraded the adult circulation workstations
· created 2 additional internet workstations.
· funded the library newsletter mailings
Your membership will help the Friends of the Library continue to provide such extra programming, equipment and services not covered by regular operating costs. All Friends' income is derived from the annual membership drive and the proceeds from the used book sale bin in the library. The library director and staff wish to thank our Friends for their support over the past year. If you would like to participate in the future of your library, please fill out the envelope, include your membership check and mail it or drop it off at the circulation desk.
PROJECTS
The Book Bin
The Book Bin is filled with donations of books and magazines. The library staff prices and sorts the materials. The profits from the sale of these materials are collected by the Friends and used to fund library purchases and projects.
