Just for Toddlers is back!
Thanks to a generous grant from Beginning Years Family Network, we are pleased to announce that Apple Tree Arts will offer 5 music and motion programs for the 0 to 3 years old age group!  Monday mornings April 2, 9, 23, 30 and May 7,  ATA instructor Beth Anderson will lead the LapSitters and Toddlers in a fun, educational hour beginning at 10:30.  PLEASE REGISTER for this programming series March 19 through March 31st.  Call 508-839-4649 and ask for Children's Room staff.  Due to space restrictions, the series is limited to 20 participants. 
Storytime for the new year!
Story times begin on Monday, January 9, 2012 for LapSitters at 10:30, 2's and 3's on Tuesdays at 10:30, 4's and 5's are Wednesday afternoons at 1:15, and 3's and 4's on Fridays at 10:30.  Storytimes include boardbooks, stories, songs, puppets, and silly stuff to excite and encourage children to be ready to read!  Tuesday , Wednesday, and Friday groups do a craft, so we ask that you register your child for Storytime so we can  prepare enough materials. 
Young Writers Group
Something new to encourage our budding young writers!  We meet Thursdays after school to write, share, and discuss new story lines or current works -in-progress.  Published authors are invited to come and give pointers to the participants - even on how to get published!  This is geared to writers in grades 3 to 5. Bring a pencil, a notebook, and your great idea!  ALWAYS positive - NEVER negative, this is a great place to share ideas.
Kids

The Children's Room serves children from birth to age 12. We offer a variety of books, audio-visual materials, books on tape and CD, magazines,and reference material.  A parenting section full of helpful information can be found in the Adult non-fiction stacks. We offer a LapSit story-activity time for babies and their care-givers Monday mornings during the regular Story Time series sessions.

Programming goes on all year with special programs like:

  • Just for Toddlers
  • Storytimes for ages 8 months to 5 years
  • PAWSing to READ with therapy animals for kids in grades 1, 2, and 3
  • Summer Reading fun for the entire family

The Children's Room will be CLOSED when programs are taking place.
