Favorite Fiction Fan Club
The Favorite Fiction Fan Club is for readers who want to be among the first to read just-released titles by their favorite authors! We’ve compiled a list of more than 100 best-selling authors such as John Grisham, Dean Koontz, Jodi Picoult, and James Patterson, (to name just a few!) whose newly-released titles are immediately placed on hold by eager readers. Tell us your favorite authors, and we will automatically place the hold for you whenever any of your authors has a new hardbound, first-edition book published. We will then notify you when the book is available to pick up. It can be checked out for 2 weeks with no renewals. Stop by the Information Desk or call (847) 428-3661, choose option 3 to sign up.
Fax Service
Dundee Library location has a faxing service at the Account Services Desk . Costs: $2.00 for the first page ; $1.00 for each additional page. If there is a cover letter, it counts as a page.
Holds Pickup
Holds are available for self-serve pick-up at both locations.Materials you’ve reserved are identified by a white label with your name on it. Items are shelved alphabetically by the last name of the cardholder and must be checked out to the library card on which they were reserved. To find your holds, take a right turn just inside the second set of double doors. The shelves will be on your right. To improve privacy, the wrappers used to identify materials on our "Holds" shelf have been slightly modified. The number on top of the wrapper indicates the day (date) that the item will be pulled from the hold shelf and returned to the regular collection or sent on to the next hold. Below that is the first five letters of your last name. At the bottom are the last four digits of your library bar code.
Since multiple last names can start with the same five letters, please double check that the last four digits on the hold wrapper match the last four digits of your library card. While our check out system is programmed to release holds only to the cardholder who placed the hold, we ask that you double check the number as an extra safety measure.
