Art and Display Areas
Display Policy:

The purpose of the Ruth A. Wendt Gallery Art Wall and other display areas in the DTPLD is to provide a space for local artists and collectors to exhibit their works and collections for the viewing enjoyment of all members of the DTPLD community.

a. Preference will be given to the artist/collector who resides in DTPLD or belongs to the exhibiting Dundee Township organization or group. Artist/collectors who reside outside of the district shall seek the approval of the DTPLD Director and will be considered if space is available.

b. No charge is made for use of the gallery art wall and/or other display areas.

c. The artist/collector is to consider the audience when selecting pieces. The audience includes persons of all ages and backgrounds. Artwork and displays in the children’s area should be age appropriate. Each artist may provide a bio sheet or resume of their recent showings and press coverage that can be put in the DTPLD sign holder near the exhibit. Business cards may be placed near the bio sheet in the card holder provided. All exhibits are to be hung in a finished state, titled appropriately and neatly framed. The artist/collector is responsible for providing supplies for the posting of the display. Maintenance of the display will be the responsibility of the artist/collector. If the removal date is not honored it may be necessary for DTPLD staff to remove the display. The DTPLD is not responsible for the condition of the materials so removed.

d. The DTPLD will not act as an agent or buyer in the sale of items. Price lists may be made available at the information desk at the expense of the artist/collector.

e. Insurance coverage is not provided on any art or display item not owned by the DTPLD. Damages and/or loss of items are the sole responsibility of the owner. A waiver must be signed before the artist/collector displays his/her work.

f. The DTPLD may use the artist/collectors’ name, the name of the exhibiting group and other posted information for press releases, the DTPLD newsletter, and other DTPLD related publicity.

g. Exhibition schedules and exhibit space allotted shall be determined by the DTPLD. The DTPLD reserves full rights to decide what will be considered an appropriate exhibit, when it will be exhibited, and in what manner.

h. Artist/collector must confirm acceptance by the third of the month or will lose their allotted display time unless prior arrangements have been made.
