Donate Books
Donations accepted at the Dundee Library Only (555 Barrington Ave., East Dundee)
We welcome your clean and gently used adult and children's books, music CDs, DVDs, books on cassette or CD, and large print materials. To donate your items, simply drop them off at the account services desk. You will receive a form for tax deductions if you wish. Please do not use the book return slots for your donations.

These items are sold to the public at our two annual book sales, and the proceeds are donated to the library to supplement needs that are not covered in the library’s yearly budget. These funds have allowed the library to offer adult programs, tours for every second grade class in our district, and much more. Our next sale isApril 18-20, 2013.

We appreciate your donations! If you have any questions about specific donations, please call the library at (847) 428-3661, ext. 5832 or email the Friends at friendsoffrvld@gmail.com.

Pick Up Materials On Hold
Holds Pickup AreaHolds are available for self-serve pick-up at both locations.Materials you’ve reserved are identified by a white label with your name on it. Items are shelved alphabetically by the last name of the cardholder and must be checked out to the library card on which they were reserved. To find your holds, take a right turn just inside the second set of double doors. The shelves will be on your right.
To improve privacy, the wrappers used to identify materials on our "Holds" shelf have been slightly modified. The number on top of the wrapper indicates the day (date) that the item will be pulled from the hold shelf and returned to the regular collection or sent on to the next hold. Below that is the first five letters of your last name. At the bottom are the last four digits of your library bar code.

Since multiple last names can start with the same five letters, please double check that the last four digits on the hold wrapper match the last four digits of your library card. While our check out system is programmed to release holds only to the cardholder who placed the hold, we ask that you double check the number as an extra safety measure.
