Part-Time Monitor
Job Title: Part Time Monitor

Hours:  14 hours per week 
Salary:  $12.59 per hour

The Dundee Library is looking for a part-time Monitor to ensure a safe environment for Library patrons.  Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • maintaining order to ensure the safety and comfort of the library patrons
  • handle patron related incidents that occur on the library premises
  • filling out appropriate reports and notifying proper authorities when necessary
  • monitoring meeting room functions
  • performing closing procedures
  • enforcing library policies and procedures
  • some light maintenance and meeting room setup

This individual must communicate effectively, work well with teens, maintain composure under pressure, stay beyond closing time if necessary, stand for long periods of time, be computer literate, and exercise good judgment in making decisions.

High school diploma and fluent in Spanish is a must.

The anticipated work schedule is:

Wednesday 5-9 pm
Friday 2:30-5:30 pm
Saturday 9 am-1 pm
Sunday 1-4 pm 

These hours may change based upon Library needs and the successful candidate will be available a mix of evening and weekend hours.

Full Time Technical Services Clerk
 Hours:  7:30am-4pm, M-F 
Salary:  $12.59/hour

Essential functions of this job include:

• Places orders for library materials with vendors, both manually and electronically

• Performs data entry and processing of materials including ensuring outsourced items are done correctly

• Mends, repairs, and cleans library items when needed

• Creates brief bibliographic records into ILS and attaches on-order holdings information

• Performs copy cataloging

• Performs all needed corrections to items and database

• Physically processes materials with appropriate labels, barcodes, RFID tagging

• Deletes materials from integrated library system

• Keeps monthly departmental statistics

• Cleans the surfaces of CD and DVDs via the disc cleaner device

• Works on special re-cataloging projects

• Provides backup for Cataloging Assistant

• Executes other duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications: High school diploma and one year of work experience. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel; the internet, email, and databases; awareness of integrated library system software, especially Sirsi Dynix Workflows Staff Client, a plus.

Full Time Facilities Manager

Hours: 40 hours per week, includes a mix of daytime, evening and weekend hours as needs require.

Salary: $44,243 per year DOQ

Essential functions of this job include:

  • Supervise staff in custodial, maintenance, and monitor roles
  • Make miscellaneous repairs and maintenance on building(s) and surrounding grounds
  • Maintain vendor relationships
  • Oversee contracts related to building operations
  • Obtain and maintain records of insurance certificates for contracted services
  • Review and sign off on invoice charges for service work completed in building
  • Inspect structure of building and determine if repairs are needed
  • Maintain list of tradesman, service companies, and contractors authorized to perform repairs
  • Notify & schedule service workers as needed
  • Act as main contact for service workers onsite
  • Develop specs and obtain estimates or bids regarding projects
  • Supervise renovations and additions
  • Ensure roofs, elevators, fire extinguishers, etc. have updated inspections
  • Perform facility plant equipment obsolesce planning, budgeting and replacement
  • Maintain inventory of physical assets
  • Transport, dispose of, or relocate office equipment and furniture
  • Set up meeting rooms for scheduled use
  • Snow removal and salting sidewalks
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies
  • Initiate purchase orders for needed supplies or equipment
  • Attend weekly Department Head meetings, monthly Board and Staff meetings
  • Maintain lighting fixtures including replacement of ballasts and bulbs

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in Facilities Management or related field.  A combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.  Minimum 2 years related experience.  Certified Facility Manager (CFM) preferred.

Public Services Clerk - Part Time
Children's Department

Hours: 16 hours per week
Salary: $12.59 per hour

Our Children’s Department staff members work in a team environment, sharing the duties required to provide full information services to young patrons of all ages. The successful applicant will be comfortable with the technologies necessary to help patrons navigate the library environment in person, by phone, and online.

The anticipated schedule is:

  • Mondays 1-5pm
  • Tuesdays 1-5pm
  • Wednesdays 1-5pm
  • Fridays 1:30-5:30pm
  • Plus 1/2 of a Saturday, once every month
  • Plus 1 Sunday, once every other month


 Some college required - LTA or coursework in progress a plus. Minimum one year experience working in a customer service position. Ability to write and speak fluently in both English and Spanish strongly preferred.
