Young Patrons Give Back Via Dundee Library Summer Reading
F.I.S.H. Donation
As part of the Dundee Library Children’s summer reading program, a piggy bank was part of the “Reading Country” display to help young patrons learn the value of giving back to the community. During visits to the children’s department, kids dropped their pennies and coins into the bank, knowing their donations would be donated to the local F.I.S.H Food Pantry. At the end of the program, more than $67 was collected.

According to Children’s Department Head Heidi Hohman (left), children get lots of little incentives and prizes during the summer reading program, and this was an opportunity for them to learn what it feels like to give back.  Hohman presented the check to Marilyn Mack (right) from the pantry on August 30.
