1,001 Books Before Kindergarten
Birth to Pre-K

Help your child get ready to read—starting right now. They’re never too young—even babies benefit from hearing someone read to them.

Join 1,001 Books Before Kindergarten by coming to either of our libraries to register. You will get a welcome packet including a special binder and book logs to track all the books you read with your child. Get small prizes as you work toward your 1,001 books.

Free Play
Starting back up January 5!
Baby Play Group 
Mondays from 10:30-11:30 a.m.! Enjoy toys, puzzles, books, blocks, and riding toys while adult caregivers get to know one another. The winter session runs from January 5 to February 27 in the Dundee Library Meeting Room on the lower level. No registration needed.




Reading Patch Club
  
Kids cReading Patch Cluban wear their love of reading on their sleeve (or their backpack, jeans, or jacket!) by participating in the Reading Patch Club. The club invites children in preschool through eighth grade to read their favorite books and explore the library for new ones, which earns them patches. To sign up, come to the Dundee Children's Department or the Randall Oaks Branch. This programs runs from September through May.

Museum Adventure Pass Program
Check out a Museum Adventure Pass using your library card. Available at both the Dundee Library and Randall Oaks Branch! Passes are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Passes cannot be reserved or checked out online or on the phone

Use the following websites to locate books by reading level. Then, use the library catalog to check on book availability or use the "Search by Lexile Number" directly from our catalog.
 
Search by author, title or keyword. Provides levels for Guided Reading, Lexile Level and Developmental Reading Assessment. Also has "Book Alike" to search for books at similar interest and reading levels.

AR Book Finder
