Summer Reading Club Sign-Up Station
Yee Haw!!! Adventures await those who join "Reading Country", the theme of this year's
Summer Reading Club for children. Why not wrangle up some prizes while you read or listen to great books? Mosey on over to the Children's Department to sign up for the program, and receive your reading log. Then just rustle up some books and you're on your way! (Over 1,320 kids have signed up!)

Halfway Point: Kids are encouraged to bring their logs to the library at the halfway point to get stamped and receive a special incentive.

Completion: When readers have finished all of their minutes they are invited to come to the Children’s Department to receive a free paperback book and other prizes.

Reading Requirements:
*Infants-1st Grade: 300 minutes (5 hrs)
*2nd-5th Grade: 600 minutes (10 hrs)
*6th-8th Grade: 900 minutes (15 hrs)

Teen Summer Reading ClubTEENS: Creativity is the key to this year’s theme – "Recreate". You are encouraged to do what you do best – your own thing! You must read, listen to, or download your own selection and then recreate it in your own way—take a photo, sing a song, write a poem, make a collage, create a video, make a puppet, do a cheer, build a model, do a dance—the sky is the limit. A prize drawing will take place at the conclusion of the program. Go to the Information Desk on the Main Level to learn more!

Summer Reading Club for AdultsADULTS: Participants must read, listen to, or download five books from the Dundee Library. Each patron who signs up at the Information Desk on the Main Level will receive a reading log and Dundee Library pen. Fill out additional logs for multiple entries into the Grand Prize Drawing.

Get some ideas of titles you may want to check out by looking at the book reviews from adult summer reading club participants....

In tandem, “The Art of Reading in Movies” offers more chances to win prizes by attending free movies at the library that are film adaptations of books, which include “Dear John” (July 19 at 6 p.m.), “Shutter Island” (July 21 at 6 p.m.), and “Bright Star” (June 24 at 6 p.m.; about poet John Keats).

Prizes include weekly gift card drawings as well as the Reader/Movie Review Prize Drawing. Share your opinions about the books you read or any of the free movie screenings you attend at the library in June and July. The winner will receive a canvas tote bag filled with a journal, poet’s notebook, archival ball writer pen set, booklight, $25 movie gift card to Classic Cinemas, and $10 Michael’s gift card.

The Grand Prize winner, chosen from the reading logs, will receive a Kodak EasyShare 10.2 Megapixel digital camera, 2 GB memory card, & camera case.
