Library Open House
open house
Interested community members are invited to attend one or more of the Library open houses to learn more about our facility issues and needs, options being studied, and financing alternatives for building improvements. A formal presentation will take place at the beginning of each session. After the presentation, attendees may stay for one-on-one question and answer  and staff-guided "behind the scenes" tours.

The same information will be presented at each of the five following sessions. Please register in advance for the one that is most convenient for you:

Wednesday, March 3, 9 – 11 a.m.

Thursday, March 4, 7 – 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, March 6, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Tuesday, March 9, 7 – 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, March 13, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Juvenile AV Check Out to Change March 1
Recently, parents of juvenile card holders received a letter explaining a revised policy that will permit children (under 18) to check out any DVDs or video games unless their guardian fills out a form restricting their borrowing privileges. Previously, all minors were restricted from borrowing movies or games unless a parent signed a permission slip allowing them to do so. Visit our Loan Policy page to read this policy in full or to download a copy of the Juvenile Video/DVD and Video Game Permission form.

Macy's Museum Passes Are Here!

Use your Deerfield Public Library card to check out free admission to museums in the Chicagoland area.

Each museum is contributing weekly passes for up to four free admissions. These passes are available on a first come, first served basis. Please visit the Youth Services or Adult Reference desks at the Library to check on availability of passes for the museum of your choice.

This special opportunity is made possible by a generous contribution from Macy’s, in partnership with the North Suburban Library System.

Architects' Report and Public Forum
The Library Board, administration, and representatives from the architectural firm PSA-Dewberry discussed the architects’ space needs study at a public form on September 22. A summary of the presentation and the question and answer session are available here.
