Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Board of Trustees of the Deerfield Public Library, Deerfield, Illinois for

DEERFIELD PUBLIC LIBRARY - IMPROVEMENT PROJECT BID PACKAGE #2

INVITATION TO BID
Sealed bids for the Deerfield Public Library Improvement Project will be received by the Deerfield Public Library, at the main counter, 920 Waukegan Road, Deerfield, IL 60015 until 2:00 p.m. C.S.T. on May 17th, 2012, at which time they will be publicly opened and read out loud at the Deerfield Village Hall, 850 Waukegan Road, Deerfield, IL 60015. Any bid received after the time and date stated above will be returned, unopened to the bidder, no matter what date it was mailed. Deerfield Public Library shall not be responsible for bids that are not received at the specific office location indicated above by the stated deadline. It is the bidder’s responsibility to ensure adequate lead times are allowed for delivery.

Project documents will be available April 19, 2012. There will be a pre-bid meeting held at the Deerfield Public Library on April 26, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. This is the only pre-bid meeting that will occur. Your attendance is strongly recommended.

Subcontractors will be required to provide proof of the ability to provide a payment and performance bond with the formal bid submission. A 10% bid bond will be required.

All contracts for the Construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12).

The Deerfield Public Library reserves the right to reject any or all bids. This invitation is issued in the name of the Board of Trustees of Deerfield Public Library. All information submitted as part of this process shall be considered public information under the State Freedom of Information Act unless specifically disclosed on the applicable information by the Bidder. Challenges to such exemptions shall be defended solely by the Bidder.
